A small, fast, honest calculator for hunters who want to know what is coming home from the field.

Most online yield calculators show one confident-looking number. Real deer do not work that way, so this one gives a range and says what it depends on. It is a static website: a few pages and a small script that runs on your device. It does not use cookies, tracking or outside scripts and fonts, so it loads quickly even on a weak signal at camp.

How it was made

The conversion factors were checked against state wildlife agency pages, a measured Ohio study, university carcass studies as reported by agencies, and a few widely quoted rules of thumb. Each source is on the Sources page, along with what we could and could not verify. The writing is original.

What this site is not

It is not a butcher, a food-safety authority or a wildlife agency. Read the disclaimer.

There are no ads at the moment. Placeholder spots for product recommendations (grinders, vacuum sealers, scales) exist, and if links are added later they will be labeled and disclosed.
